State Bauhaus/German Modernism
The school of Bauhaus is one of the most iconic and important facilities of the twentieth century. Founded by german architect, Walter Gropius who was the leading representative of functionalism and also Bauhaus principal.
There were three faciliities in three different german cities, Weimar, the Dessau and Berlin. Students who have studied in these schools attenteded special course, which involved learning about forms, materials and colours. A course would last six months and afterwards students have finished three years of workshops which included: wall painting, interior design, sculpture, metal and wood.
Once finished the course, student s would achieve one of the highest forms of eduction within wide range of skills. Apart from functionalism, which became a solid contribution in the area of designing space and objects, architects and other artists of Bauhaus have raised different personal concepts, often deviating from commonly acceptable level of understanding.
I perticularly like this style because of its rational and functional background.
The artists of Bauhaus were able to produce simple yet very functional designs which inspire designers and many artists up until this day.
